Many colors are shared by several causes, so adding your cause or organization name to the pin or the card makes the meaning clear.

Plan around the awareness month

Most causes have a month or a day: October for breast cancer and domestic violence, September for childhood cancer and suicide prevention, May for mental health, November for diabetes. Our awareness months calendar lists them all. Approve your proof at least six weeks before the month starts so the pins are in hand for kick-off events.

Recommended specifications

1 inch soft enamel is standard; add glitter to the ribbon for a little sparkle. Hand pins out with a flyer that names the cause, the month and your website, and each pin becomes a conversation starter.

Price per pin in USD, delivered with shipping and import duties included. Up to 8 colors, a shiny or antique gold, silver or copper finish, rubber clutch (two per pin on pins 1.5 in. and larger) and individual poly bag included.

At 1,000 pieces, a 1-inch ribbon pin is $1.35 each, delivered.

How many awareness pins to order

For a walk or run, order one per registered participant plus 20%. For a hospital or company, one per employee. For a donation drive, start with the number you distributed last year; if this is your first year, 300 to 500 pieces is a common start. Pricing drops sharply between 100 and 500 pieces: a 1-inch ribbon pin is $3.20 each at 100 and $1.75 at 500.

Wording that helps

A ribbon on its own can be misread, because several causes share each color. A short line on the pin such as "Childhood Cancer Awareness" or "Mental Health Matters", plus your organization's name, makes the pin a clear statement and gives people the words to explain it.
