Begin with where the company pin will be worn

A board member's lapel, a staff lanyard and a conference giveaway have different jobs. Decide the main use before choosing the size or packaging. The same company mark can be shown in a restrained metal design or a more colorful enamel layout, but the intended wear should guide the decision.

Company use Decision to make first
Daily staff issue Readable identity and a suitable attachment
Executive or board wear Compact size and metal finish
Onboarding Quantity for current starters and the next intake
Conference or company event Event date and distribution quantity
Client or partner gift Presentation and packaging

For an event-led brief, the event pin page covers that occasion. For a pin the company will issue regularly, keep the front focused on the approved brand identity.

Decide which version of the logo fits the pin

A complete horizontal logo may be difficult to read at lapel size. An approved emblem-only mark, a shorter lockup or a simplified outline can give the artwork more room. Send the permitted logo versions and tell us which elements must stay together.

Use the proof to compare the visible shape, smallest lettering and relationship between enamel and exposed metal. A gold-tone or silver-tone finish becomes part of the design, especially when the logo has open areas. The technical logo pin guide covers file preparation and adapting detail to production.

Brand colors should be identified in the brief, with Pantone references where available. One company contact should collect any comments from brand, administration and the people who will wear the pin.

Build one specification for purchasing

A logo file alone is not enough to compare two quotes. Include the intended use, quantity, longest-side size, enamel style, finish and attachment. Add the presentation choice and the date the pins need to reach the company.

Hard enamel produces a smooth surface, while die-struck pins express the logo through raised and recessed metal. Soft enamel is another option where a colorful design and visible metal outlines suit the brief. Choose the pin back for the garment rather than leaving it unspecified.

For gifts, compare the pin and its packaging together. Tell us whether the project needs a simple individual bag or a presentation box so the quote covers the item as it will be issued.

The standard starting quantity is 50 pieces per design. A base reference is 200 pieces of a 1-inch hard enamel pin at $2.64 each, or $528, in USD with standard shipping and duties included. Selected extras change that specification. The full pricing table keeps all size and quantity tiers together.

Separate regular brand issue from earned awards

A company logo pin can be given to every new staff member. A recognition pin has another role: it identifies an achievement, company value or service milestone.

For tenure, use years of service pins and specify the quantities for each anniversary. For different achievement categories, use employee recognition pins and build a design-by-design award list. These can share a visual identity with the company pin while keeping their purpose distinct.

Plan stock and future orders with a reference

Count the people receiving the first batch, then add the quantity the company chooses for new hires, replacement stock or planned events. If more than one office is involved, record the allocations and required dates before requesting delivery arrangements.

Keep the approved artwork and specification under one design reference. For the next request, send that reference, the new quantity and any changes to logo, finish, packaging or deadline. That gives purchasing a clear comparison with the earlier order.

Include company billing details and a PO reference where needed. The first quote can then bring the artwork, physical specification, delivery plan and purchasing contact into one project.

Prepare a comparable quote

Keep the artwork, quantity of each front, selected options and required arrival date together. The supplier comparison checklist helps compare the same specification. For a repeat run, use the reorder brief to identify the previous version and any change.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

All questions
What logo file should the company send?

Send the approved vector artwork if you have it, plus the brand color references. A clear image can also start the discussion.

Can a corporate pin use only the logo symbol?

Yes. An emblem-only version can work well at a small size; show which approved logo versions the company permits.

Can our PO number appear on the invoice?

Include your company invoicing details and PO reference in the project request.

What should purchasing keep for repeat orders?

Keep the approved artwork, design reference and specification. Include those with the new quantity and required date.
