How soft enamel pins with raised metal detail are built
The difference between pin styles is in how the metal and the color meet. This illustration shows the profile of the style on this page.
Soft vs hard enamelUse the raised outline as part of the design
Soft enamel leaves a visible and tactile metal line around the filled colors. The line defines a mascot, logo or illustration, while the enamel sits slightly below it. Shapes with bold outlines and clear areas of color work naturally with this construction.
Send the artwork before adding effects. Small open spaces, narrow lettering and fine separate color cells need to be checked at the intended size. Enlarging the pin or simplifying a detail can be more useful than adding another color.
Choose the finish and effects together
Shiny or antique metal finishes change the contrast around the enamel. A bright metal outline can emphasize a dark field; an antique treatment gives recessed metal a darker appearance. See the plating options.
Glitter is selected by color area. Glow is a different effect and should be named separately. An epoxy dome changes the surface feel and the quote. List the selected effects rather than treating every pictured feature as a base inclusion.
Price one design at a time
The standard starting quantity is 50 pieces per design. The base table lists one 1-inch soft enamel design at $3.20 each for 100 pieces, before selected extras. That is a specific size and quantity reference. The price table and order box let you compare other configurations.
For a multi-design series, give the count for each front. Add the attachment, number of selected effect colors, packaging and required arrival date so the project total uses the specification you actually need.
Compare the surface before choosing
Choose hard enamel when the face needs to be polished flat. A photographic or gradient-heavy image may be better as a printed pin. The soft versus hard enamel guide compares the surfaces and artwork considerations.
