How hard enamel pins with a smooth polished face are built
The difference between pin styles is in how the metal and the color meet. This illustration shows the profile of the style on this page.
Soft vs hard enamelPlan a logo or crest at the chosen size
A polished face does not remove the need for metal boundaries between colors. Give the artist the approved logo, exact wording and any small seal detail that needs to remain. The proof shows whether fine lines should be thickened, lettering shortened or the pin enlarged.
For a school or organization seal, start with the clearest source file. Check the full outer name and the smallest lettering at actual size instead of judging only an enlarged screen image.
Keep the finish compatible with the surface
The standard hard enamel selection uses shiny gold, silver or copper finishes. Antique finishes are not offered on the polished hard enamel face in the current configurator. If the darkened recessed-metal look is central to your design, compare soft enamel or die struck instead.
A gold-tone finish describes the plating color. If a project specification names a different material or a traditional glass-enamel process, include the exact requirement so the proposed product can be compared correctly.
Compare the complete award specification
A 100-piece run of one 1-inch hard enamel design is listed at $3.52 per pin in the base table, before selected extras. A gift box, engraving or upgraded back changes that specification. Full tiers are on pricing.
For a service award series, list the count of every year or front version. For a nursing class, include the class quantity, any personalized backs and the ceremony date. Both projects need a price against their actual artwork and quantities.
Approve more than the front image
Confirm the longest edge, enamel colors, shiny finish, attachment and back details along with the front. The standard starting quantity is 50 per design. The ordering process connects the approved proof to the production specification and delivery arrangement.

Can hard enamel have an antique metal finish?
The current hard enamel selection uses shiny finishes. Choose soft enamel or die struck if an antique recessed-metal finish is important.
Is hard enamel the same as fired-glass cloisonné?
The terms are often used differently by suppliers. State the required process and compare our material explanation before approving a specification.
