Build the brief around the unit artwork
A unit emblem, reunion design and commemorative message are different starting points. Send the artwork that controls the crest, the exact wording and any date that belongs on the front. Identify which elements should remain and which can be simplified at pin size.
Keep branch, unit and event wording distinct in the brief. If the pin is part of a series, explain the change on each front rather than combining several identities into one crowded layout.
Put the order into a usable brief
| Procurement detail | Include in your brief |
|---|---|
| Artwork | Approved emblem or original commemorative design |
| Wording | Unit, event and date written exactly |
| Material | Metal relief or enamel color treatment |
| Quantity | Each front and any reserve |
| Presentation | Attachment, packaging and required date |
Compare metal relief with color
Die struck pins use the contrast of polished and recessed areas. Soft enamel keeps a raised metal outline around color, while hard enamel is polished flat. Choose the process around the emblem, not only a finish photograph.
An antique finish and an engraved back are separate details to specify. If names or sequential numbers are wanted, include the count and the space needed on the reverse.
Connect the design to the project
See veteran pins for a related community context or service milestones for a tenure program. The pin back guide helps compare attachments.
The standard starting quantity is 50 pieces per design. Send the actual count for each front, the selected size and material, any back or packaging requirements and the required arrival date. The pricing page keeps the full base tiers in one place; the project quote brings the selected specification together.

Can a reunion design use a year on the front?
Yes. Send the exact date and identify whether the design is specific to that event or intended for future reuse.
Should the unit emblem be die struck or enamel?
Choose according to the artwork. A metal-only crest and a color-dependent emblem need different comparisons on the proof.
