▶ VideoPlan a service award series
Bring the milestones, quantities and presentation date together before choosing the artwork.
- Milestones
- List the number needed for each service year.
- Design route
- Compare front-facing numbers with a shared logo and back engraving.
- Next awards
- Keep the approved artwork and a dated reorder list.
Start with your annual milestone list
A service pin order starts with a small HR list: which anniversaries are coming up, how many employees reach each one and when the awards will be presented. You do not need to send employee names to get the first design and quote.
Keep a separate line for every milestone, even when all the pins share a shape and logo. That makes the artwork versions, quantities and project total clear from the beginning.
| Information to prepare | Example of how to record it |
|---|---|
| Milestone | 5 years, 10 years, 15 years |
| Quantity | A separate count beside each milestone |
| What changes | Front numeral, back text, finish or stone layout |
| Presentation | Individual bag, pouch or gift box |
| Required date | The date the awards need to be in your hands |
Count the awards you expect to present and decide on a reserve for corrections or later additions. For presentation ideas and ways to organize the anniversary calendar, use our years of service award guide.
Choose how the milestone appears
A year on the front makes each award easy to recognize during a presentation. Keep the same logo position, outline and type style across the series, then check the smallest and largest numerals on the proof. A layout that works for “5” also needs room for “25” or “40.”
A shared front with the year on the back keeps the company mark consistent. Ask for the year to be quoted as laser engraving, along with any name or date you want to add. The front and back should both appear in the approved specification.
Finish or stone details can distinguish milestones without changing the overall identity. Decide the complete sequence before approving the design, especially where a stone setting changes the pin construction.
These are alternative ways to build a series. Ask to see the project price for the approach you prefer rather than assuming different front versions receive one combined quantity tier.
Size the logo and the award together
Service pins often sit on a lapel or uniform, so a compact design needs a readable logo, a clear milestone and enough metal between the enamel areas. Start by comparing 0.75-, 1- and 1.25-inch options against the artwork; the best size is the one that preserves the detail you want people to see.
Hard enamel gives a smooth surface. Die-struck metal uses relief and the metal finish to define the design. Gold-tone and silver-tone finishes describe the appearance of the plating. Choose the attachment for the garment the pin will be worn on, using our pin back guide.
The designs above are customization examples. Your proof sets out the actual wording, size, colors, finish and back layout for your company.
Read the quote by version
The standard starting quantity is 50 pieces per design. For a service series, the useful price is a breakdown showing each version and quantity, followed by engraving, presentation and delivery options.
As a size-and-quantity reference, the current base table lists a 1-inch hard enamel pin at $3.52 each for 100 pieces, in USD with standard shipping and duties included. That is a single-design reference, before selected extras; it is not a blended price for several milestone designs. See current pin pricing for the full specification and tiers.
A gift box changes the presentation and the total. Include the box choice in the first request so the quote covers the award as it will be handed to the recipient.
Keep an order reference for next year
Keep the approved front and back artwork, design reference, finish and packaging choice together. When the next milestone list is ready, send that reference with the new quantities and date. Point out any changed logo, wording or recipient details before the new order is approved.
For awards earned through performance or company values, use employee recognition pins. For a logo pin issued to everyone, use corporate lapel pins. Keeping those purposes separate helps a service award remain recognizably tied to tenure.
Prepare a comparable quote
Keep the artwork, quantity of each front, selected options and required arrival date together. The supplier comparison checklist helps compare the same specification. For a repeat run, use the reorder brief to identify the previous version and any change.

Can one service pin series cover different milestone years?
Yes. Send the required years and a quantity for each; the proof and quote show the versions separately.
Do all milestone quantities count as one design?
A changed front can create another design version. List the quantities separately so the quote can show the right price for each.
Can the company logo stay the same while the year changes?
Yes. The year can be part of the front artwork or quoted as back engraving on a shared front design.
What should we send for a reorder?
Your previous order or design reference, the versions and quantities needed, any changes, and the required delivery date.
