When PVC is the better choice
- Pins for young children: soft edges and no sharp metal on the front
- Outdoor use: rubber does not rust or chip
- Large sizes: a 3-inch PVC pin weighs a fraction of a metal pin
- Bright, bold designs: PVC colors are vivid and slightly matte
For pins that should feel substantial or premium, choose soft or hard enamel instead.
How PVC pins are made
Each color is poured into its own level of a mold and cured, then layered until the design is complete. A metal plate is embedded in the back to hold the pin post. Raised outlines can be in any color, not just metal tones.
