How UV printing on enamel works
After the enamel is filled and baked, a UV printer jets ink onto selected areas and cures it instantly with ultraviolet light. Because the printer can blend colors, it reproduces gradients that enamel cannot. Printed areas are usually finished with a clear epoxy dome for protection.
UV print or offset print?
- UV print on enamel: keeps metal lines and enamel texture, adds a gradient or detail in certain areas. Best when most of the design is enamel.
- Offset printed pins: the whole face is printed and domed. Best for photos and full-color artwork.
- Screen printing: single-color fine detail on enamel. Best for small text.
Price
UV printing adds $0.25 per pin. A 1.5-inch soft enamel pin with a UV gradient, at 100 pieces, is $3.95 plus the add-on.

Can every enamel pin have a gradient?
Yes, with UV printing over the enamel. Enamel alone can only make solid colors.
Does a UV print look like a sticker?
No. It is printed directly onto the enamel and sealed under clear epoxy, so it sits flush with the pin surface.
Will my gradient match my screen?
Printed colors are close to your file but screens vary. We match to Pantone or CMYK values you give us.
Can I print a photo on part of an enamel pin?
Yes. A photo area can be UV printed within an enamel design.
