    Side by side

    One design, two enamel styles

Soft enamel sits slightly below the metal lines, so you can feel the outline and the colors stay bright. Hard enamel is filled level with the metal and polished smooth, and costs about 10% more at the same size and quantity.

    Soft vs hard enamel

Start with the job the pin needs to do

A team trading pin, an illustrated retail collection and a company award ask different things of the same manufacturing process. Tell us who will receive the pin, how it will be worn and whether this is one design or a series. An existing logo, vector illustration or phone photo of a sketch can start the conversation.

For a brand or organization, include the version of the logo that is approved for small applications. For artwork you intend to sell, identify the details and colors that define the illustration. The proof brings those choices together at the selected size.

Choose the surface around the artwork

Soft enamel leaves the metal lines raised above the color. Hard enamel is polished to a smooth surface. A design with photographs or gradients may be better as a printed pin. The artist can compare the relevant options instead of forcing detailed artwork into small enamel cells.

Your starting point Include in the brief
Company logo Approved mark, brand colors and wearing use
Illustration Artwork, important fine details and intended size
Team identity Mascot, team name, season and trading quantity
Award series Each front design and the quantity of each

Compare the total for the selected design

The standard starting quantity is 50 pieces per design. Quantity tiers apply to the design being produced, so separate designs need their own counts. A 100-piece run of one 1-inch soft enamel design is listed at $3.20 per pin in the base table; selected options change the total. See pricing for the complete tiers.

Include the back, packaging and required arrival date when comparing quotes. Delivered prices include shipping and duties to the US, Canada, UK and Australia; other destinations are quoted separately. A proof is a design approval step, and the finished specification should be agreed before production.

    Find the relevant project route

Use team trading pins for a roster and tournament order, company pins for brand rollout, or service awards for milestone versions. If you are comparing manufacturers, the supplier selection checklist sets out the details to compare in the quote.
