Build the team order before the season

A baseball trading pin needs a recognizable team identity and enough stock for the events on your calendar.

Team artwork
Choose the mascot, hometown and season wording.
Event plan
Separate a weekend event from a week of trading.
Manager handoff
Keep one proof, quantity list and delivery contact.

Start with the club identity, then choose the baseball shape

Home plate gives a team name a natural frame. A glove can hold the mascot or ball, while a club pennant leaves room for a hometown and season. The strongest layout gives one of those elements priority instead of squeezing every baseball symbol into the outline.

Choose what another player should recognize first: your mascot, your town or a distinctive team mark. Give the artist the exact lettering, jersey colors and any detail the club wants to keep. The designs above are customization concepts, useful for discussing a direction rather than examples of orders delivered to actual teams.

The pictured size belongs to the concept. For your order, compare the artwork at the size you want to trade; tiny stitching and fine mascot lines may need a different treatment from the main team lettering.

Decide whether the front belongs to the season or one event

A season pin can travel with the team to several tournaments. Team name, mascot and year keep it connected to the roster without making leftover pins specific to one week. Heading to Cooperstown? See Cooperstown trading pins for quantities, sizes and order dates.

An event-specific pin can include the destination or event wording in the artwork. If you want a different front for another event, list that as another design version with its own quantity. Back text is another detail to discuss in the quote, especially when the front needs to stay uncluttered.

Use only event artwork the team is authorized to reproduce. Send the intended wording and artwork with the first request so the proof shows the complete design the club will approve.

Build the quantity from the roster

A team order needs a count of people trading and a realistic allocation, rather than a round number chosen before the roster is considered. Include players, any coaches or family members covered by the team and the reserve the manager wants to hold.

The trading pin quantity calculator keeps the full event estimates and formula in one place. Decide whether the total is meant to last one weekend, a longer tournament or several events in the season, then compare the size and add-ons against that quantity.

The standard starting quantity is 50 pieces per design. When asking for multiple designs, provide the count for each instead of only the combined order total.

Review the proof like a team manager

Use one person to gather the club's comments, then check the details that will be hard to change after approval:

  • Team name and hometown: spell them out in the brief rather than relying on text inside a small logo file.
  • Year and event wording: decide whether they belong on the front or back.
  • Baseball detail: inspect the stitching, crossed bats or glove lines at the intended size.
  • Colors and metal: compare the team colors with the labeled proof, not just a screen mockup.
  • Back layout: include attachment positions and any text in the approved specification.

Our design ideas guide covers broader composition ideas. The commercial proof should bring those choices down to one concrete team design.

Compare the whole pin and delivery plan

The quote should state the longest-side size, quantity, enamel style, plating, added effects and packaging. A large home-plate outline and a smaller pennant can have different unit prices even with the same logo. Use the size comparison and trading pin prices to decide which specification fits the club's budget.

Tell us the day the manager needs the pins in hand, the first event date and the shipping postcode. Include time before travel to check the shipment and give players their allocations. If the schedule is tight, put that date in the request and discuss the available rush options with the design.

For a fastpitch roster, use the separate softball trading pin page. Other sports are organized under custom trading pins.

Prepare a comparable quote

Keep the artwork, quantity of each front, selected options and required arrival date together. The supplier comparison checklist helps compare the same specification. For a repeat run, use the reorder brief to identify the previous version and any change.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

All questions
Can our team start without finished artwork?

Yes. Send the club name, colors and the main idea, along with any logo or sketch you have.

Can the design include a tournament logo?

Include it only when your team has permission to use it. Send the authorized artwork and wording with the brief.

Can we keep one design for the whole season?

Yes. A season design can use the team name and year without tying the front to one event.

How many pins should the team order?

Use the roster, planned allocation per player and team reserve. Our quantity guide includes a calculator for that total.
