Design ideas that stand out on a trading table
Bows, megaphones, pom poms, stars and dance shoes are classic shapes. Glitter is almost standard for cheer pins, and rhinestones make a pin worth trading for. Keep the team name large and readable. More ideas are in trading pin design ideas.
How many to order
For a competition season, plan 10 to 15 pins per athlete if they trade at several events, plus team and coach pins. A gym with 60 athletes might order 600 to 900 trading pins. For a single event, 5 to 10 per athlete is usually enough.
Recommended specifications
1.5 to 2 inch soft enamel with glitter, rubber clutches and a locking back for pins worn on bags. For young dancers, ask for our material test reports.

Order before competition season
Approve your proof 6 to 8 weeks before your first competition. Peak season fills quickly from November to February.
Trading etiquette at competitions
Pin trading at cheer and dance comps is friendly but has a rhythm: athletes trade one-for-one, ask before taking a pin from someone's board or bow, and keep a few special pins they never trade.
