What it means
The yellow ribbon as a sign of waiting for someone to come home took hold in the United States during the Iran hostage crisis of 1979 to 1981 and spread again during the Gulf War in 1991. On this pin it stands for support for deployed service members and their families.
Colors and finish
Yellow on white needs a strong edge, so the gold-tone outline frames the ribbon and the lettering shifts to a darker gold. The look is warm and hopeful rather than military.

Can we add a blue star for a family with a deployed member?
Yes. A blue star in the loop is a familiar sign for families with a member serving, and it fits within the included colors.
Can we use our branch's emblem?
Official branch emblems need a license from that service, so we leave them off unless you have one. Neutral stars and flags are fine.
Can I change the wording on the pin?
Yes. Replace the top or bottom text with your organization, campaign or event name.
How many awareness pins should we order?
One per participant or staff member plus 20%. Prices drop at 300, 500 and 1,000 pieces.
