What it means
Blue and yellow are the colors of Down syndrome awareness in the United States. The split ribbon shows both at once. World Down Syndrome Day falls on March 21 because Down syndrome is caused by a third copy of chromosome 21: the date, 3/21, is the point.
Colors and finish
The vertical split keeps both colors at equal weight; yellow on white needs the silver outline to hold its shape, so we keep the edge a little heavier than on single-color ribbons.

Can we add three small stripes or chromosomes as a nod to 3/21?
Yes. Three small chevrons or chromosome shapes fit inside the loop at 1 inch, and our artist shows them on the proof.
Do you make the blue and yellow in glitter?
Yes. Glitter enamel costs $0.22 per color per pin, so a glitter ribbon in both colors adds twice that.
Can I change the wording on the pin?
